The road access to the Ilha de Faro Beach is made through a narrow bridge over Ria Formosa.
Despite of the intense tourist boom during the Summer time and to the recent chaotic construction of new houses, in the extremes sides of the sandy area one can still find colourful fishermen houses and dunes.
On the Eastern side a Nature Walk is available, through a wooden that traverses the dunes to nearby Barrinha in Barra de S. Luís.
This area is usually utilized for the practice of nautical sports (jet ski, windsurf, sailing…).
