Parque Florestal de Monsanto

Parque Florestal de Monsanto is the largest green space in the heart of Lisboa, with an area of almost 1000 hectares of woodland, usually known as the “Lisboa lung”, providing wonderful sights over Lisboa and its special light.
It is a huge green spot of great interest and a wide vegetable variety. Through the Park it is possible to observe several species of oaks inhabited by quite a few squirrels. In fact, the ecosystem of the Parque Florestal de Monsanto is a "little box filled with surprises" given the huge diversity of animals, between reptiles, amphibious, birds and mammals.
Integrated in the park, the Lisboa Camping offers visitors two multi-sports areas, a mini-golf course, two tennis courts, a swimming-pool area with solarium and terrace, a common room and an amphitheatre.
The Parque Florestal de Monsanto also provides an Interpretation Centre - The Espaço Monsanto - whit a permanent exhibition to better know and learn about this Park.
There is also a medium-sized auditorium, a small amphitheatre, car park and a small picnic area.
Monsanto also includes the Alto da Serafina Urban Park, the Calhau Urban Park, the São Domingos de Benfica Woodland, the Alvito Play-Ground, the Moinhos de Santana Urban Park and the Quinta da Fonte.
