Colado's Viewpoint and Landscape

The Colado Viewpoint is situated over the beautiful Mazouco small village, nearby Freixo de Espada à Cinta, in the Northern region of the country, over the astonishing Douro river.

The viewpoint is located on the panoramic road that descends in direction to Mazouco. From here, one has an astonishing panorama with the beautiful Douro river as the main actor playing in a schist-mountainside stage of great beauty.

From this viewpoint it is possible to observe the famous “Horse of Mazouco”: the first Paleolithic painting that was discovered in Portuguese territory, in 1981.

This is a place blessed by nature, in a territory inhabited by a large variety of fauna and flora.
