Pico Castelo Viewpoint

Situated in the delightful Porto Santo Island, on the Madeira Archipelago, the Pico do Castelo Viewpoint is one of the privileged spots in this island to admire the beauty of this natural landscape, where it is possible to observe some of the small islands that surround Porto Santo and also all the charm of the Island itself.

The highest point in Pico do Castelo reaches 430 meters high. Here is situated an homage sculpture torso of Schiappa de Azevedo, a man that strongly contributed to the forestation of this hill, that before was arid, with no trees at all. Here is also situated the ruins of a 16th century Fort, symbol of the populations defensive needs from the many pirate attacks of the island in other centuries.
