Meia-Praia

Meia Praia Beach has a wide sandy area with around 4km, with equipment for the practice of nautical sports.
On the Eastern side of the Beach, one can find the Meia Praia Fortress, built to assure the protection of the Lagos bay in the 17th and 18th centuries. Historians affirm that it was in front of this Beach that the ships carrying the treasure of the Aztec Emperor, in 1522, shipwrecked.
