Isna

Isna is a small peaceful village, nearby Oleiros, situated in a region of fertile soils, with abudancy of water courses, like the beautiful Isna river.

Isna lived right up until half of the 20th century in an almost complete isolation from the outside world. Even nowadays Isna breathes a peaceful, relaxed environment, where time seems to have stopped ages ago.

The highlights of Isna, apart for all the incredible natural beauty of the village and its surroundings, are its 18th century Mother Church, the Nossa Senhora das Dores Chapel, dated from 1793, the Mulheres Fountain (“Women Fountain) that was built after a visit of the King Carlos, attending the request made from all the women in the village, and also the many ancient bridges and wind and watermills that are present throughout the region, marking its rural environment.
