Also known as Santa Catarina Chapel, the Almas (souls) Chapel is located in Santo Ildefonso (Oporto). It is a building of the 18th century, which main feature is the exterior covered with amazing glazed tiles signed by Eduardo Leite, made in 1929, made in the renowned Viúva Lamego Ceramics Factory.

These glazed tiles, that cover abot 360 square meters, represent scenes of the life of Francis of Assis and Saint Catherine, the Egyptian virgin with Royal Blood, that was mortified in Monte Sinai.

Also quite interesting are the main altar’s panel, of Joaquim Rafael, representing the Lord’s ascension, the façade’s stained glass window and also the image of Our Lady of the Souls.
