Braga is one of the most ancient and beautiful cities in Portugal, and also one of the most ancient Christian towns of the world, as well as one of the most important religious centres in the country.
Baptized by the Romans as Bracara Augusta, at the time of the Roman occupation it was the biggest town in the territory that nowadays is Portugal, Braga is also known as “City of the Archbishops” or even the “Portuguese Rome”.
